Please join me in congratulating Patty Dykes, Doctoral Candidate in Nursing Informatics, for winning the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Doctoral Scholarship!!! This award is very special because it is not only based on significant accomplishments both academically and professionally, but on the individual's potential for leadership in the field. This is the 3rd time in about five years that someone from Columbia has won (Adam Wilcox & Eneida Mendonca are previous winners) so is evidence not only of our fabulous students, but of the rich environment that supports their innovative research.
