Overview

Rakiyah Jones, DNP, MBA, MPH, AGACNP, FNP-BC is a family nurse practitioner and assistant professor of nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing (CUSON). He has fifteen years of nursing experience including serving on active duty in the United States Army as a Nurse Corps Officer. He received his Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner (MS) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Columbia University School of Nursing. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Rutgers University-Newark formerly University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Additionally, he completed CUSON’s fellowship in Palliative and End-of-Life Care and a Post-Master’s certificate in Adult Gerontology and Acute Care at the University Pennsylvania. He is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Dr. Jones’s clinical interest focuses on complex chronic illness and palliative care in urban communities with a special focus on LGBTQIA aging populations.
