Allison Norful Receives 2018 Rising Nurse Researcher Award for Excellence and Rigor in Nursing Scholarship

At an event held in April, Allison Norful ’17, PhD, associate research scientist, was conferred the 2018 Rising Nurse Researcher award. She was honored for her excellence and rigor in nursing scholarship. The award was bestowed by the Cathryne A. Welch Center for Nursing (CFN) at the Foundation of New York State Nurses, Inc. The mission of the CFN is to advance excellence in health care through research and evidence-based practice.

Members from CFN’s board of directors, including the president, were in attendance at the conferral ceremony, which was held at Columbia University School of Nursing. Surrounded by faculty and staff, Norful accepted the award and gave a presentation about her research, entitled “Optimal Integration of Nurses within Interprofessional Care Delivery Models: Perspectives, Measurement and Outcomes.”

“I am delighted to receive this award in the presence of friends and colleagues, who each day push me as a scientist to learn more, deepen my expertise, and share my knowledge,” said Norful. “To be the 2018 Rising Nurse Researcher is both humbling and encouraging, as I continue to study delivery models, team-based care, and interprofessional teamwork.”
