
Faculty, Alumni Named to 2025 AAN Class of Fellows
The American Academy of Nursing (AAN) will welcome several members of the Columbia Nursing community to its 2025 Class of Fellows this fall.
The following faculty will be inducted at AAN’s annual Health Policy Conference, to be held October 16-18, 2025, in Washington, DC:
- Leon Chen, DNP, associate professor of nursing
- Bevin Cohen, MS ’17, assistant professor of clinical nursing
The following alumni will also be inducted:
- Esther Chipps, BS ’83
- Sarah Elizabeth Giron, MS ’05
- Kevin Hook, BS ’98
- Young Ji Lee, PhD ’13
- Zainab Osakwe, PhD ’18
- Trisha Sheridan, MS ’09
The newest fellows represent 42 states, the District of Columbia, and 12 countries
“I cannot emphasize enough at this pivotal time in history the vital importance of recognizing this extraordinary and sizeable group of nurse leaders. With rich and varied backgrounds from practice, policy, research, entrepreneurship, and academia, they have been instrumental in using nursing’s holistic approach to improve the health of patients and communities throughout the world,” Academy President Linda D. Scott, PhD, said in a press release from AAN.
