Meet Columbia Nursing’s 2024 Campbell Award Winner
Ian West, MS ’22, has received the Campbell Award, given annually to a graduating student at each Columbia University school.
The award, established in 2016 by the Columbia Trustees and Columbia Alumni Association (CAA), recognizes exceptional leadership and Columbia spirit as exemplified by the late Bill Campbell ’62CC, ’64TC, chair emeritus, university trustee, and CAA co-founder.
West, who grew up in Minnesota, is completing a doctorate in nursing practice, specializing in psychiatric mental health. Throughout his time at Columbia, he has been actively involved across the university. He represented Columbia Nursing on the student committee that helped select the 20th president of Columbia University. At the nursing school, he has been a peer mentor, academic coach, and teaching assistant, and recently won the TA of the Year award.
