New Faculty Members

Three new faculty members have joined the School of Nursing.

Jingjing Shang, Assistant Professor of Nursing. Dr. Shang earned her PhD in Nursing from Johns Hopkins in 2009 and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing where her research focused on quality of care, patient safety and workforce issues. She is an Oncology Certified Nurse, and her other research experiences include symptom management and exercise adherence among cancer patients.

Lusine Poghosyan, Assistant Professor of Nursing. Most recently an Assistant Professor of Nursing & Public Health at Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, Dr. Poghosyan earned her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Her research has focused on the nursing work environment and quality of care.

Jacqueline Merrill, Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing. A graduate of Columbia's DNSc program, Dr. Merrill has been an associate research scientist in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. Her public health systems research focuses on the public health infrastructure: the workforce, data and information systems, and the organizations and relationships that underlie how communities address major health problems. During the past five years, she has established a research program aimed at comparatively evaluating performance in local health departments.
