TRANSIT Director Nancy Reame presented” Becoming a Nurse-Scientist as a Career Option” to the first cohort of the CDC-sponsored Summer Public Health Scholars Program

On June 8, Transit Director Nancy Reame  presented” Becoming a Nurse-Scientist as a Career Option” to the first cohort of the CDC-sponsored Summer Public Health Scholars Program. The goal of the program is to  to foster an interest in public health and biomedical science among minority undergraduates. The 45 Scholars from across the US.

Will spend an intensive 10 weeks on Columbia’s Medical Center campus focused on health disparities research and cultural competence training experiences. Along with her talk,  Dr Reame’s  a field trip to the  Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research located on the 10th floor of NY Presbyterian Hospital, where students visited the in-patient and outpatient clinical facilities, as well as the Biomarkers Core to learn about clinical research.
