Welcoming New Leadership
Ashaki Charles has joined Columbia Nursing as associate dean for development and alumni relations, while Janejira Chaiyasit, DNP ’17, and Alexander Mangone — both of whom have worked at the school since 2016 — have been promoted to new leadership roles.
Charles brings more than two decades of experience in higher education advancement to Columbia Nursing, where she leads fundraising strategy, alumni engagement, and campaign development to strengthen the school’s mission of advancing health equity, clinical leadership, and innovation in nursing education.
An adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner at the Nurse Practitioner Group of ColumbiaDoctors Primary Care, Columbia Nursing’s faculty practice, Chaiyasit now leads the practice in her new role as assistant dean of clinical affairs. She will also co-lead the Division of Nursing Practice with Matthew Wieland, chief advanced practice provider, Department of Emergency Medicine. Chaiyasit received her BSN, MSN, and DNP from Columbia Nursing, where she is an assistant professor.
Mangone has been promoted to director of the Grants Management Office. He joined Columbia Nursing as a project manager for Professor Rebecca Schnall, PhD ’09, and became a grants manager at the Grants Management Office in 2017.
