Overview

Elaine is a T32 RHeaDI postdoctoral fellow interested in leveraging informatics to improve and personalize care for seriously ill patients and their informal caregivers as they move from hospital to home. She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, where her dissertation focused on sepsis patient education and provided training in qualitative methods and implementation science. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she is building on this foundation by developing expertise in quantitative methods, large clinical datasets, informatics, and large language models to identify patient and caregiver needs and inform personalized interventions. Her long-term goal is to establish an independent, externally funded program of research focused on improving care transitions and become a tenure-track faculty member at a research-intensive university.
