Celebrating Reunion 2025

Columbia Nursing welcomed alumni and friends to Reunion on April 25, 2025, including members of the Class of 1975 celebrating their 50th year back at the school and members of other classes ending in “5” and “0” celebrating milestone years.

The event opened with a Welcome Brunch on the first-floor atrium, along with a poster session featuring research by Doctor of Nursing Practice students.

Dean Lorraine Frazier, PhD, welcomed the alumni and delivered the State of the School address. The keynote session,“Wellness in America: Innovations to Improve Health,” featured talks by faculty members representing the nursing school’s three pillars: education, research, and clinical care. The afternoon program included sessions on aromatherapy, using AI to create a daily wellness routine, and GLP inhibitors and weight loss.

Melissa Beauchemin, PhD ’19, received a Distinguished Alumni Award for nursing research. Associate Professor Kasey Jackman, PhD ’17, and Laurie Ray, MS ’11, each received Early Career Alumni Awards as Emerging Nurse Leaders.

The day ended with a wine and cheese celebration for milestone classes and a happy hour in midtown for all other alumni. The milestone classes achieved their goal of raising $25,000 for student scholarships and related support.
