Presentations 

Melissa Beauchemin PhD ’19 presented on “Opioid Use Among Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer: What We Know and Where We Go from Here,” at the 13th Annual Texas AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) Oncology Conference, held February 17-18, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. 

Kellie Bryant presented on “Healthcare Disparities Represented in Simulation: What Are We Missing?” at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare, held January 21-25, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.  

Maureen George presented on “Advanced Lung Disease: Qualitative Content and Dyadic Interview Analyses” at the 5th International Conference on Prevention and Management of Chronic Conditions: Nursing Innovation in the Next Era, held February 15-17, 2023, in Bangkok, Thailand, and will present on “Differences in Self-Management Preferences Increase Risk of Uncontrolled Asthma in African Americans” at the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting 2023, to be held March 25-28, 2023, in Christchurch, New Zealand.  
 
Ashley Graham-Perel presented Dr. Bernardine Mays Lacey: Leading the Way, a film on the life and legacy of this Black nurse leader, at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She is the executive producer of the film. 

Awards  

Gregory Alexander will receive a Distinguished Contribution Award from the Midwest Nursing Research Society.  

Kellie Bryant received the Society for Simulation in Healthcare President’s Award for Service. 

Grants 

Gregory Alexander and Lusine Poghosyan received an R01 grant from the National Institute on Aging for their project “Impact of Nursing Home Leadership, Care Environments, and Health Information Technology on Outcomes of Residents with Dementia.” The five-year award is for $3,945,306.
