Latest News from CUSON Team in Haiti

Five Columbia nurses arrived in Santo Domingo on February 8 via commercial airline, carrying medical supplies, a few required personal items (including mosquito nets and sleeping bags) and their strong personal commitment to begin the School's outreach to Haiti. After helicopter transfer into Haiti, the nurses were immediately taken to their assigned clinics where they began to work. They will be there for two weeks, to be rotated back when another CUSON group replaces them. The outpouring of support from our faculty, students and alumni has been astounding, with over 200 contacts with offers of help and service. We are especially grateful that several of the volunteers (two of the first five) are DNP graduates, who have a particularly needed compliment of skills for this desperate population. Follow their blog on the School's main website.
