Pasklinsky Named to Inaugural Class of aiX Faculty Fellows

Natalya Pasklinsky, DNP, associate professor and assistant dean, simulation, has been named to the first class of aiX Faculty Fellows

She is one of 21 Columbia University faculty to receive the fellowship, which is supported by the Office of the Provost for Faculty Advancement, funded by a grant from Google, and co-sponsored by the Data Science Institute and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

Fellows explore and examine what AI means for scholarship and professional practices in their discipline and develop an AI education project contextualized within their discipline. In her project, “AI Agents and Pedagogy for Critical Thinking,” Pasklinsky will design and evaluate an AI augmented simulation framework that can adapt in real time to learners’ clinical reasoning and communication behaviors. She explains: “I hope to develop a scalable, evidence-informed model that strengthens simulation education, supports faculty in leveraging AI responsibly, and prepares students for the evolving demands of data-driven, technology-enabled health care practice.”
