  • Jeanne Churchill ’10 presented “Importance of Developing Critical Thinking in Nursing Education” at the Second Virtual International Conference on Nursing Education and Health Care, held on March 20, 2021.
  • Jeanne Churchill ’10 and DNP candidate Racheal Mignin were among the presenters of “What Does It Mean to Leave? Helping Immigrant Families Through Interprofessional Care,” at Columbia Commons Campus-Wide Day of Interprofessional Action, held virtually on March 30, 2021.

Veldhuis presented “Relationships and Health” at the CPRC Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Spring Workshop for the Columbia Population Research Center on March 19, 2021.   • Gregory Alexander was awarded the Health Science Policy and Informatics Senior Researcher Award by the Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS).
  • Suzanne Bakken received the 2021 Jane Norbeck Distinguished Service Award from the Nursing Alumni Association, University of California, San Francisco.
  • Kellie Bryant was selected to join the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC)’s Nurse-Led COVID Vaccine Confidence Advisory Committee (VCAC).
  • Stephen Ferrara was elected to the Inaugural Advisory Committee of DNPs of Color.
  • Tonda Hughes is the recipient of the 2021 ENRS Distinguished Contributions to Nursing Research Award by the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Awards Committee.
  • Tonda Hughes was named the 2021 Distinguished Nurse Alumna by the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing.
  • Jacquelyn Taylor’s Columbia Nursing Larson Global Development Fund (Larson GDF) application for Global Research Pilot Grant titled “TEAM BUILDING for Genetic Ancestry, Social Epigenomics, and Cardiovascular Disease Risk in the Intergenerational Eastern Caribbean Health Outcomes Research Network (ECHORN) Cohort Study” was selected for $20,000  funding in a one-year time frame, May 1, 2021–April 30, 2022.
  • Three Columbia Nursing students are recipients of awards from the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Awards Committee: Yashika Sharma, conference scholarship; April Ancheta, second-place doctoral poster award; and Sarah Leonard, first-place doctoral paper award.
