Overview

Alexandria Jones-Patten, PhD, MBA, RN, PMH-BC received her PhD in Nursing in 2022 from the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine. Her dissertation research examined the relationship between discrimination experiences and readiness to quit cigarette smoking among African American adults experiencing homelessness. Alexandria's research interests include discrimination experiences, mental health and cardiovascular outcomes among African American adults. Alexandria has work experience as a telemetry nurse, and in public health, previously serving in Street Medicine and in a busy clinic setting in Skid Row Los Angeles. In January 2023, Alexandria was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the NHLBI funded T32 Postdoctoral Training in Arteriosclerosis.
