Profile Headshot

Overview

Ariana Rose Komaroff, DNP, FNP-BC, IBCLC, PMH-C is a faculty member in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Midwifery Programs at Columbia University School of Nursing. She practices pediatric primary care in southern Connecticut and is the founder of AK Lactation in Westchester, NY (Ariana Komaroff, DNP, Nurse Practitioner in Family Health, PC)—a family-centered practice dedicated to supporting families through newborn and infant feeding challenges. Dr. Komaroff is a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and a certified provider in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), committed to delivering high-quality, collaborative care through education and patient partnership.

Her passion for maternal-child health began early in her career as a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. There, she supported new parents and infants, focusing on breastfeeding/chest feeding, and human milk feeding. These experiences sparked her interest in addressing the complex needs of both infants and parents, ultimately leading her to pursue advanced nursing education.

Dr. Komaroff earned her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Columbia University in 2004 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2019. As an advanced practice nurse, she has cared for both pediatric and adult patients across a range of specialties, including general medicine, pediatrics, maternal-child health, gastroenterology, and liver transplant.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Komaroff is passionate about nursing education, leadership, and advocacy. She takes pride in teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurses, helping them gain the knowledge and confidence to excel in their careers.
