Columbia University School of Nursing offers a variety of world-class programs and degrees. Tuition and fees vary across each program, and unless noted otherwise, all costs are based on the estimated total cost of attendance for the 2026-27 academic year. See below for more details. 

Tuition and Fees by Academic Program

Doctor of Nursing Practice

Direct Costs:  

  • Tuition: $80,558

  • University Fees: $3,387

Total Direct Cost: $83,945 

NOTE: For students in the MDE/DNP track, there is a budget item added for the NCLEX (professional licensure expense) in the amount of $343 in the Fall 2026.

Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $80,558
  • University Fees: $3,387

Total Direct Cost: $83,945

NOTE: Full-time cost for first three terms of the program (Summer, Fall, Spring). A budget for Uniforms and Fieldwork is accounted for as indirect costs for the Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Doctor of Nursing Practice – Part-Time

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $2,496 per credit
  • University Fees: $2,419

Total Direct Cost: $25,841 (based on 9 credit registration Fall 2026)

NOTE: For students in the MDE/DNP track, there is a budget item added for the NCLEX (professional licensure expense) in the amount of $343 in the Fall 2026.

Doctor of Nursing Practice Systems Leadership

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $2,250 per credit
  • University Fees: $2,593

Total Direct Cost: $29,593 (based on 12 credit registration for the 2026-2027 academic year)

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $52,596 (covered)
  • Health Insurance: $5,367 (covered)
  • Stipend: $48,080 annual

Total Direct Cost: $57,963

NOTE: Columbia University School of Nursing provides three years (eight semesters) of funding for tuition, related fees, health insurance, and a stipend to PhD students.

Masters Direct Entry Program for Non-Nurses

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $106,222
  • University Fees: $3,387

Total Direct Cost: $109,609

NOTE: Full-time flat rate fee for first three terms of the program (Summer, Fall, Spring). A budget for books and supplies specific to the MDE program is accounted for under indirect costs.

Masters Direct Entry Program for Non-Nurses – Hybrid

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition (Year 1): $14,000
  • Tuition (Year 2): $29,000
  • University Fees: $3,387

Total Direct Cost: $17,387

NOTE: The flat-rate tuition of $14,000 per term is reflected above for the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms.

Masters in Advance Clinical Management and Leadership

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $18,000
  • University Fees: $1,479

Total Direct Cost: $19,479

NOTE: Per semester flat rate fee of $9,000 for the first two terms of the program (Fall, Spring).

Online Prerequisites for Entry to Nursing – Non Degree

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $350 per credit
  • University Fees: $779 (per term)

Total Direct Cost: $1,829 (based on 3 credit registration Fall 2026 term)

Palliative Care Throughout the Lifespan for APRNs

Direct Costs:

  • Tuition: $1,000 per credit
  • University Fees: $779 (per term)

Total Direct Cost: $3,779 (based on 3 credit registration Fall 2026 term)
