Celebrating Reunion 2026

Columbia Nursing welcomed alumni and friends to Reunion on April 24, 2026, including members of the Class of 1976 celebrating their 50th year back at the school and members of other classes ending in “6” and “1” celebrating milestone years. 

Dean Lorraine Frazier welcomed attendees and introduced the day’s program, which included a talk by Jane Chaiyasit, DNP ’17, “Your Health, Your Plan: The Power of Primary Care,” followed by a discussion led by Ashley Graham-Perel, EdD, “The Non-Negotiables: Identity, Integrity, and Innovation in Nursing.”  

After lunch, Lucinda Canty, BS ’91, introduced “Sip, Paint, Reflect: Exploring Art’s Impact on Well-Being,” while attendees painted sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh, followed by a Simulation Immersion Theatre experience with Natalya Pasklinsky, DNP, and an exclusive Columbia Nursing History Tour. 

In the evening, the celebration moved downtown to The Penn Club for the Dean’s Dinner and Alumni Awards Ceremony. Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented to Sunmoo Yoon, PhD ’11, Nursing Research; Jinjiao Wang, PhD ’15, Nursing Research; and Hwayoung Cho, PhD ’17, Nursing Research. The late Mary Moran, MS ’08, was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award, In Memoriam for Lifetime Achievement. Christian Cansino, DNP ’17, and Christine McMorrow Mironenko, MS ’13, each received Early Career Alumni Award: Emerging Nurse Leader.
