Stone, Smaldone Named Emerita, New Role for Graham-Perel

Recent faculty transitions at Columbia Nursing include two professors honored with emerita status. 

Patricia Stone, PhD, was appointed Centennial Professor Emerita of Health Policy in the Faculty of Nursing, and Arlene Smaldone, PhD ’03, was named Professor Emerita of Nursing (in Dental Behavioral Sciences) (in Dental Medicine) at CUMC.  

Jingjing Shang, PhD, has been appointed the Helen Young CUPHSONAA Professor of Nursing at Columbia University Medical Center. 

Veronica Barcelona, PhD, and Billy Caceres, PhD, have been promoted to full tenure. 

Ashley Graham-Perel, EdD, an assistant professor and previously director of the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs at Columbia Nursing, has been appointed assistant dean of Community Engagement and Global Initiatives. 

Beatriz Makhoulian, DNP, has joined Columbia Nursing’s faculty as director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program.
